The Missing Redux II Scene *Spoiler Alert!* Redux II, surprisingly enough. But I guess everyone knows how it ends anyway... Disclaimer: Yes, I know, zzzzz, but it has to be done if I want to save my skin, my money, my website and my stories! I don't own Mulder, Scully or anything related to The X-Files (I wish I did), they are the precious property of Chris I Am God Carter, 1013, Twentieth Century Fox and probably a bunch of other people. I'm making no money from this, it's here just to enlighten people of the goings-on in my strange little brain. Don't sue me, I'm too busy with exams! Rating: None. Anyone can read this - but I suggest Noromos take a quick exit! Classification: UST. I was gonna make it an MSR but decided that would make the rest of season 5 seem like a bit of a cop-out. Summary: I decided it was unfair not to see how Scully tells Mulder that her cancer's gone. This is pure fluff - I was crying when I wrote this! Sad? Me? Never. Noromos and Naxis - get out or regret it forever. Don't bother to flame me - you shoudn't *be* here! XXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXX Mulder walked the now familiar hospital corridor in a daze. Ho couldn't quite take in what had happened - how Blevins, a wild guess, had been behind it all along. How he's deceived he and Scully from the beginning... He opened the door and walked into Scully's room slowly. She was sat up, smiling. He smiled back, and she asked him straight away, "What happened?" Mulder sat down on the bed, his hands playing absently with the fingers of her right hand as her life blood pumped through them still. "It was Blevins," he said simply, and her eyes grew wide. "Blevins?" She asked, sounding shocked. He nodded, and shrugged as if to say "I don't understand either". She studied his face as he looked down for a second; saw the ghosts of bags under his eyes; sensed him trying not to break down in front of her. She moved closer to him. He looked back, and saw that smile returning again. "It's gone, Mulder. The tumour's gone," she told him, and he gasped, his hands gripping harder round hers. His mouth dropped open for a second as the words echoed in his head, feeling the most overwhelming relief wash over him. "That's the best thing I ever heard," he said sincerely, and she put her arms around him, hugging him tightly. For a second he was stunned, but then he responded, held her to him and ran a finger gently through her hair as he felt tears prick the corners of his eyes. He pulled back, and when she saw the tears she rested a hand on his face. "Don't cry," she reassured him, and he smiled as her own eyes welled up. He gently kissed her lips and she shut her eyes, before wrapping her arms arond him again. He sobbed softly on her shoulder as she held him. He'd been so scared of losing her, had felt so guilty and awful, and now she was okay again? She, too, cried quietly in his arms, the fear of leaving him slipping away. The sound of their soft sobs echoed around the rooms as they held on to each other. The door opened suddenly, and Scully opened her eyes to see the blurry image of her mom and brother in the door, looking uncertain. Mrs. Scully asked, "We'll come back later, shall we?" Mulder heard the voice and forced his own eyes open, gently releasing Scully from his arms. He turned to the door and replied, "No, it's okay. I'll leave you three to be together." Bill looked shocked to see the tears Mulder knew were still staining his cheeks but he didn't care. He turned back to Scully. "I'll see you later on," he promised quietly, and she gently brushed some of the tears from his cheeks, nodding. He took a deep breath and stood up, turning to leave. Mrs. Scully smiled at him, but he refused to meet Bill's gaze. He walked out of the room and sat down, his head in his hands as he wiped the last tears away. Scully was okay, and that was all he needed to know. XXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXX Copyrighted Marie 1998, so there. Told you it was soppy! Do NOT archive! Ask first.
