Jim Engh - Red's Thoughts.

For those of you who don't yet know, during
pre-production filming for season 8 (Dave
and Gilly weren't present), a power line
touched some scaffolding, killing a crew
member Jim Engh (the grip) and injuring
five others. The Official Site has the full
story, and The Haven have posted some
collages to eXpress their condolences on
this terrible occurence. I'm shaken and
upset by this happening. It doesn't seem
right that someone should pass on in
such a way. If you want to send your

- make sure you mention that it's to be
routed to The X-Files. CC himself has
spoken about the accident (again this
is on the Official Site). I can't begin to
eXpress my sorrow for this having
happened.  
The Haven have suspended posting
today, and although this feels like the
most appropriate thing to do I am updating
very briefly, just two counters, one on the
postcard page and the other on the fanfic
page. I'm not putting links in as I'm just
mentioning in passing, I'm not doing a proper
update.  A friend of mine (Stephie, from the
SEFAMSRN), said that she feels as if he
died for our entertainment, and that it's
wrong.  She's got it spot on, perhaps apart
from the wording, which I don't think can
ever be right in a situation as awful as this.
  It's not fair.  This man was part of a group
of people trying to make another group of
people -us- happy, and he died doing so.
It's times like this that we are reminded of
how very lucky we are to have what we
have.
Please, all take care of yourselves. A light
has been eXtinguished in the world very
suddenly. My deepest sympathy to the family
and friends of Jim Engh during this terrible
time.
